My animation was a way to see the worlds I envisioned come to life through motion. My sculpture is a way for me to give my thoughts dimension and gravity. Sculpture seems a somewhat unlikely term for what I do – I view it more as three-dimensional drawing. Regardless of the nomenclature, my motivation is far more cultural analysis than spatial exploration.

These pieces are the direct result of my collecting compulsions. Typically, I find an interesting object (or group of objects) and feel compelled to build a housing that will clarify the particular characteristics I find intriguing. I include informative captions or graphic comparisons not only to explain my interest, but also to give everything an earnest, faux solemnity.
